WIN BUILD SEND
The Church is set in order under the authority of the Word of God, but the absolute authority in the Church is and must be the Chief Shepherd of the flock of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, who delegates and chooses to express His authority through men and women who are His gifts to the Church (Ephesians 4:8-12).
The New Testament clearly indicates that the full oversight of a local church should be vested in plural eldership (Philippians 1:1; Acts 20:28; Titus 1:5). This collective leadership creates a source of immense spiritual authority (Matthew 18:18-20). Thus the establishment of our eldership (which consists of our Senior Pastor and appointed elders), implements the above principles.
Called and equipped by God and fulfilling the qualifications forthrightly stated in the scriptures (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:1-3), elders administer care and spiritual oversight to the members of the congregation, under the direction of our Senior Pastor. They guard, rule, preach, teach, counsel, visit and pray for the sick, assist in the administration of the ordinances of the church, give assistance to the Board of Directors, in the administration of business, when appointed and assume other areas of responsibility in the church as they are gifted. The elders, with the deacons, function to assist our Senior Pastor in Pastoral Ministry.
